MEET THE OWNER
Matt’s career in construction began more than fifteen years ago while attending college, where he worked in a variety of hands-on roles that sparked a lasting passion for building and craftsmanship.
Following graduation, Matt joined Layton Construction, one of the region’s leading commercial builders, where he spent nearly a decade contributing to several notable projects across Utah. During this time, he was on the field construction management team of landmark cultural venues such as the Eccles Performing Arts Center in Salt Lake City and the UVU Noorda Performing Arts Center in Orem, projects recognized for their architectural significance and impact on the communities they serve.
Matt also worked extensively in preconstruction and estimating, helping plan and budget projects ranging from $2 million to more than $325 million. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of project planning, cost management, and the careful coordination required to bring complex projects to life.
Today, Matt brings this breadth of experience to Horizon, guiding clients through every stage of the building process; from early planning and budgeting to construction and final completion. His background in both preconstruction and field execution allows him to approach each project with clarity, precision, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
